Paw Nation reports today: “According to KTXL-TV, a lawsuit was filed last week against A&L Poultry for abandoning 50,000 hens in an egg production facility in Stanislaus County, Calif. When the facility closed in February, the chickens were left behind and were not discovered until two weeks later. The hens were starved and dehydrated when they were found. Luckily, animal sanctuaries were able to rescue 4,500 of the chickens.
