Sanctuary September 2011 E-News
As we say goodbye to the September heat waves, the sanctuary was busy welcoming new residents, including Lupe the Pheasant Chick, Loni the Disabled Rabbit and Oso the Injured Broiler Chick, to our rescue center. Vegansaurus t-shirt sale to benefit the sanctuary
Vegansaurus t-shirts are on sale now. Guess what? 30 percent of the profits from each t-shirt sale will be donated to Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary. Make your t-shirt purchase by October 14th. Turkey on the Featherlite
Kimo, the sanctuary’s newest rescued turkey, found the perfect place to perch at dusk—the rails of our flatbed truck. The custom flatbed is a “Featherlite” design. We’ve always understood turkeys to be smart individuals. Kimo reinforced this fact by his discovery of the Featherlite flatbed as the ideal spot to rest.

Let the training begin...
Harvest Home Heroes, the sanctuary’s fundraising running team, will hold its first group training session on Saturday, October 8th at 10 am. Runners will gather at the Lake Merritt Archway (Grand Ave/El Embarcadero) in Oakland to begin the preparation for the New Year’s Eve Half Marathon in Castro Valley. The second training session will be held on Saturday, October 15th at 1 pm...

Double Adoption: The more, the merrier
When one rabbit is adopted through Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary, we’re happy. But, when two rescued rabbits are adopted together, we’re thrilled. This week, Laurel and Kiko were adopted together. Many other lovely rabbits are looking for homes currently. View their adoption profiles online now!
