Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary is seeking loving homes for 565 rescued chickens. Our sanctuary received an emergency call to save the lives of hundreds of birds from a battery cage egg facility in mid-July 2013. We need your help to find all the birds homes!
Step 1: Contact us at email@example.com with your adoption inquiry. In your email inquiry, please provide your full name, physical address, and phone number along with the number of hens you are interested in adopting and a photograph of your chicken living area. We will send you an adoption email response within 24 to 48 hours.
Step 2: A Harvest Home representative will conduct a pre-screening phone interview with you regarding chicken care, nutrition, housing, and vet care.
Step 3: Complete the sanctuary’s “Companion Chicken Adoption Questionnaire & Contract” at the time of the adoption. A site visit by a Harvest Home representative is required to complete adoption. The adoption fee is $5 per rescued hen.
This week, our new friends at Small Pet Select donated fresh timothy hay to the rescued rabbits of Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary. Lydia is the spokesbun for the hay taste test. She says Small Pet Select’s hay is certified bink-a-licious.
Check out what we served up at our recent vegan food sampling at the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin, California: TLT Sandwiches (Tofurky, lettuce, and tomato on sourdough bread with vegan mayo) and a summer salad with roasted walnuts, apples, cranberries, and raspberry salad dressing. Thank you, VegFund, for supporting our outreach!
Today is the last day to support the Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary Chicken Sponsor-a-thon. Our goal is to find a sponsor for each chicken at the sanctuary by the end of today. We have a long way to go. Today, we hope we can meet our goal with your loving support!
For just $15 this month, you can sponsor a rescued hen or rooster: Donation link.
Sponsorships make marvelous gifts for your loved ones. And you can make a meaningful impact in the life of one of our adorable birds, like Cassidy who was rescued from a manure pit at A&L Poultry a year ago this month.
Help newly-rescued Wilton the Cat on his road to recovery!
Wilton was rescued earlier this week near Tracy, after he was struck by a speeding motorist on Interstate 205 (connector between I-580 and I-5 in San Joaquin County). A rescuer with Harvest Home Animal Sanctuary found bewildered and dazed Wilton literally sitting on the line divider of the merging line on I-205, inches from cars, trucks and semi’s barreling along the roadway. It’s an absolute miracle Wilton was not pancaked by a vehicle.
Young Wilton was taken to Jules Veterinary Center in Tracy for emergency care. He sustained trauma to his head, lungs and legs. Currently, he is being closely watched at our sanctuary as he recovers from his injuries.
Support Wilton the Wonder Kitty by making a contribution to his vet care and recovery today!
